Late night projects

I had a paper due today for my humanities class. Of course I didn't start writing until last night. I also needed to atone for the horrible sin of my cellphone ringing during class by bringing treats (teacher's rule). So, Scott being the sweet guy he is, made some "cake mix cookies" I could take to satiate the masses. They are, as you can see, tiny. This is so every single person can have a taste. We started frosting them at like 10:15 at night. I got the brilliant idea of piping the frosting so it could go quicker (and maybe look nicer than a knife job over a one inch space).

Well, Scott thought mine looked like turds. I asked him what sort of creature made "white cow pies?"

After that, it just turned into a kiddie project. Scott added letters (this was a cool idea). Then we tried shapes then added the all time confection decoration: sprinkles.

Amazingly, they look kinda cute when stacked together. My class didn't mind eating them, either.

Pin the Petals on the Flower

Shh. It's a suprise party!

I made this little game at my mom's request for my Grandma's birthday this weekend. It is also my cousin's little girl's birthday, so we thought it would be fun to have some little people games.

I don't think we'll be using real pins, but for sure we'll spin 'em around before they get a whack at this one. :)

You can find lots of good stock photos for FREE at the Stock Exchange. I got the vector flowers from vecteezy.com. Like my designer friend Dan said, "We steal what we can and make up the rest." So true.

Rainy Day: Week in Review

It's raining. I wish I had cute boots like these.
We've been going a hundred miles an hour.
Spring term is in full swing, and we're keeping up. This is what's been going on:

We got a new computer (Thanks Dad!) a beautiful 24'' iMac.

We've taken tests and gotten "a"s on them. Way to go us!

We have a nephew! Joey and Kimberly had their baby, Clark, on the 10th. We're so happy for them!

We've barbequed and fondued and baked like crazy. ( we can now do focaccia, cheese fondue, and Scott has made some amazing white bread that stays soft)

We've played 3 intramural raquetball games in the last two weeks (my first one was a by, so I played the upper division girl and she whooped my trash; Scott's first one was a long game, but he was up against a guy with goggles and a glove; my second game was a super workout, and I won!; Scott's second game was better than the first, but he was up against mr. I've-played-racquetball-for-7-years, Scott had some amazing shots for only having played for about a year).

We've watched at least 10 episodes of LOST. We're now on season 3! We are trying to catch up without being left to watch season 4 one episode a week like the rest of the world. Our new computer makes an excellent television screen.

We've made some stellar homemade brownies and peanut butter cookies. No more butter left in our house!

We've plowed through 3 boxes of Kix, two boxes of Cheerios, and one box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch. (major sale two weeks ago where they were a buck a piece.)

We've tested our air conditioner out—it's not as good as the cool night air and a few fans.

We watched Prince Caspian last weekend. It was AWESOME!

We get to go to Las Vegas this weekend! Hopefully we can do some swimming and friend seeing. Know anyone going from Las Vegas to Provo? We're going to need help taking my old junk from my mom's in St. George to my house so we can get ready to move. . .

Wedding Photography

My wedding photographer Terra let me join her on a wedding shoot this weekend. It was a blast. I could definitely get used to a nice camera like that! Here is a sample of the photos I took:

Forever Strong Movie Screening

Nancy and I got to go to the prescreening of Forever Strong, a movie that will be coming out in September. This movie comes from the producer and director of Saints and Soldiers. The producer is Nancy and I's cousin. It was an amazing movie that I would recommend to anybody to watch with their family. It had good values without being cheezy and was a gripping story about a young teens transformation through the influence of both a couch and his rugby team from Highland, UT. It's based on a true story and it's not like your average sport's movie where by the end, you're more interested in the team winning than about the individual characters. A must see.

Photo Shoot

Just wanted to post a few of the pictures we took of Kodi & Jason. We had a fun time taking them, and a fun time working with them afterward.

Weekend

This weekend, Scott and I tended my cousin Adam's kids so he and Amber could check on their cabin in Idaho. It was a lot of work, and a lot of fun. We watched a movie or two (don't watch Alvin & the Chipmunks), went to 2 soccer games, read some stories, and colored several pictures. Those kids are so good. They know how to share with each other, get along, help each other, and have a seriously good time. I only wish we had taken pictures (and naps)!

Maybe we'll take a few tonight. Though, there were some prime moments at the soccer games.

When Adam & Amber came home, we showered up and tried EZ Take-out Burger on State Street in Orem. It is supposedly the closest thing to In-N-Out up here, and we wanted to find out how true that was. The burgers were tasty! The buns weren't as spongy-good as In-N-Out, but the fries may have been tastier (greasier, anyway). And, they serve apple beer!

Then we used up an old gift card at Macy's. It's just fun to look around at Macy's. The Martha Stewart Collection has so many cool things! I wanted to have one of everything. We had more on the card than we thought, so after much deliberation, we selected the 3 tier, square baking pans. The packaging alone was cool! Scott tried some banana bread in them.

perfect for cakes like this one which we did not make:

We stacked our banana bread!

After Macy's we were on a mission for some Cold Stone. They have Ghiradelli chocolate ice cream and caramel filled Ghiradelli squares now at Cold Stone, so we had to sample them! We got sweet cream with brownies and the chocolate/caramel squares and the chocolate ice cream with pecans and heath bar. We couldn't finish the whole thing, it was so big! Thanks to an old home teacher who got me the gift card when I had some oral surgery last semester.

Two episodes of Lost later, and we were zonked!
