Off to the East

Notice, I did not say that we were going "Back East." I have a problem with that term on many levels (back behind you? back as in returning?). Anyway, we're going to Pennsylvania! Scott was accepted at Penn State in the PhD program of immunology. I'm so happy for him and we're excited for our adventure. We'll be moving at the end of July or so because Scott's orientation at the school begins in the first few weeks of August. We have so much to do to get ready to move across the country! We're sad to leave our families and friends behind in the west, but we're almost certain to return when he graduates (in 5–6 years). Everyone should come visit us though! Hershey, PA is so close to Washington DC, NYC, Philadelphia, and ooodles of other places that are fun and interesting. Besides, Hershey has all that chocolate, tons of trees, and in August: Scott and Nancy!

Update on Guitars Unplugged. It went Great! I'm going to try to track down a video and some pictures of the event. Maybe I'll even figure out how to post the recording of our song. Meanwhile, we plan on graduating in April (well, we'll walk in graduation and then officially graduate in August). Only a few more weeks of school left crammed with papers, tests, and projects. I'm doing some design projects on the side which keeps me extra busy, and we both recently discovered emusic, so when we're home we hunt for cool songs to download. It's pretty fruitful sometimes. You should check it out!

Rock Stars

Scott and I are officially rock stars.

Well, we're playing in Guitars Unplugged tonight, so we're practically rock stars. You should all come! Our band is named Sweat Taxi. Yes it's gross and 70s ish, but it's also a real hoot. Scott's brother Jason was instrumental in bringing it all together, cause he brought Todd Wood (the guitarist from his band, Even Return) over and Todd's song "Lens" is perfect for our little group. It's a sweet song about life and memories that Todd actually wrote for his grandfather. I'm singing the song, Scott is on the bass, Todd on the guitar, and our multi-talented brother Jason is playing percussion—cowbell included.

I'll have to post photos later. Wish us luck! Better yet, come see us play.
